Visual Arts at Pearcedale Primary School is an exciting and dynamic part of our curriculum. Children explore themes which best reinforce a series of “art skills” suited to their learning needs. Unit topics reflect integrated themes being developed in other parts of the school curriculum.
Through the Visual Arts program children progressively develop new skills and build competencies established in earlier years. Within every unit children will explore drawing and painting, construction, modelling, design, colour combining and use of a range of arts media such as mosaics, beading, copper etching, weaving, sculpting and clay.
Throughout a child’s life at school we offer opportunities to meet and work with visiting artists and crafts people. Children participate in group and community exhibitions in locations such as the Mornington Peninsula Gallery and the Peninsula Cinemas .
